WHO joins the commemoration of International Day of Yoga at the UN

On the occasion of the Third International Day of Yoga, WHO office at the UN participated in an event on ‘Conversation on Yoga for Health’ organized by the Permanent Mission of India to the UN.



Dr Nata Menabde, outlined the health benefits of yoga, including the key role Yoga plays in the fight against the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), providing both preventative and curative benefits. The event also featured several renowned yoga teachers and practitioners who reflected on the benefits of yoga emphasizing on the fact that it is a comprehensive and holistic health and wellness module, providing physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
