The UN Specialized Agencies for health and labour are partnering to strengthen the global monitoring of workers’ health and safety. WHO and ILO have agreed to establish and regularly produce estimates of the work-related burden of disease and injury, the WHO/ILO Joint Estimates. The organizations have signed a dedicated Collaboration Agreement to formalize their partnership on these inter-agency estimates. The WHO/ILO Joint Estimates could be used to monitor progress on occupational health and safety, within and across the Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 8 to ensure healthy lives, promote wellbeing and promote decent work for all.
