Europe commits to staying malaria-free

The WHO European Region is the first to achieve malaria-free status. While this represents a landmark achievement, continued focus and action is needed to preserve these gains and prevent the re-establishment of malaria transmission. Through the Ashgabat Statement, launched today, Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States reaffirm their commitment and identify clear actions that they will take collectively.
