Monaco has been a long-term supporter of health systems strengthening for the District of Sainte Marie in Madagascar, contributing an additional €70 000 to its 2014-2018 agreement, which was extended by one year. An additional flexible contribution of €30 000 to WHO headquarters will fund institutional services and support functions, helping WHO deliver on its goal of building a better, healthier future for people globally.
As one of WHO’s top per capita donors, Monaco has supported WHO for decades in its efforts to eradicate polio, prevent and control noncommunicable diseases and support programme activities related to health and the environment. Monaco is also a contributor to WHO’s malaria programme, making it an important partner for the African region.
