WHO is one of the five founding partners of the Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF), with the secretariat at the World Trade Organization. The STDF works to increase the capacity of developing countries to implement international sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) standards, guidelines and recommendations and hence ability to gain and maintain market access.

The new STDF 2020-2024 Strategy has been published on 30 January, with a reception to mark the launch held at the WTO in Geneva.

The five-year Strategy shows the commitment of  STDF's global partnership to a roadmap for facilitating safe, inclusive trade outcomes for developing countries, in support of the UN’s 2030 Agenda.
