Member States Consultation on the Draft Regional Action Framework on Communication for Health (C4H), Manila, Philippines/Hybrid, 20-21 April 2023: meeting report
Overview
On 20–21 April 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for the Western Pacific convened the Member States Consultation on the Draft Regional Action Framework on Communication for Health (C4H), held as a hybrid meeting, in Manila, Philippines. The draft Framework builds on significant work undertaken since 2019 towards establishing C4H as a technical programme supporting Member States in the Region. The meeting is an integral step towards developing a Regional Action Framework on C4H that meets their needs.
The meeting was the first of its kind, bringing together experts working in this field from countries and areas of the Region. Around 90 representatives from 27 countries and areas across the Western Pacific Region, technical advisers and WHO staff came together during the consultation to engage in rich discussions and provide constructive feedback that will enable the Regional Office to further strengthen the draft Framework. Their insights will help ensure that the Framework is fit-for-purpose before it is presented for consideration by the Regional Committee in October 2023.
