Overview
In 1997, WHO and its Member States made a commitment to eliminate lymphatic filariasis (LF) as a public health problem through World Health Assembly resolution WHA50.29. Lymphatic filariasis has already been eliminated from several countries, both as a result of targeted programmes (e.g. in Japan and part of China) and improved sanitation (e.g. in Australia and the United States of America).Editors
