Overview

A joint meeting of the FAO Working Party of Experts on Pesticide Residues and the WHO Expert Committee on Pesticide Residues was held in Rome from 9-16 November 1970. The meeting was opened by Dr O.E. Fischnich, Assistant Director-General  Directors-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, on behalf of the Directors-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Health Organization.  Dr Fischnich also introduced Mr F. Albani, who had become Director of the Plant Production and Protection Division of FAO since the last Joint Meeting, and Mr Albani welcomed the participants. The FAO Working Party of Experts on Pesticide Residues had already met from 3 to 7 November 1970 in Rome in preparation for the Joint meeting.
