| Technical document
Overview
The Paediatric Regulatory Network was initially created as a global paediatric working group in February 2010, in response to a recommendation from the 2008 International Conference on Drug Regulatory Authorities and as part of the WHO Better Medicines for Children project, to offer a platform for discussion on paediatric regulatory considerations for national regulatory authorities. The project was supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Network (previously called Paediatric medicines Regulators’ Network) met on three occasions (one meeting in Geneva in February 2010, one in Tanzania in October 2011 and one in Burkina Faso in June 2013), with dedicated training sessions.
