IN FOCUS: 2021

Data, analytics & delivery for impact

Overview

The WHO Division of Data, Analytics and Delivery for Impact was created as part of Dr Tedros’ transformation agenda to address data gaps, focus on results, and deliver impact in collaboration with all three levels of the Organization and with external partners and collaborating centres. This mandate has been reinforced by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has highlighted the need for effective and efficient health information systems that support rapid decision-making and informed policy design.

This publication provides an overview of the strategic direction and progress of the Division in 2021 towards strengthening country health information systems, making data available as a public good, delivering a measurable impact, and using data to drive public health policy. It also showcases the next phase of scaling best practices and accelerating implementation based on lessons learned and continuous feedback from WHO Member States and regional and country offices.
