Overview
In 2019, the first WHO’s Advisory Group on the Governance of the Private Sector for Universal Health Coverage was convened. The Advisory Group acted as an advisory body to WHO’s role in developing and implementing governance and regulatory arrangements for managing private sector health service delivery, in order to help countries advance on universal health coverage (UHC). The membership and terms of reference for the group were revised and renewed in 2022 to what is now called the Technical Advisory Group on the Governance of the Private Sector for Universal Health Coverage (“the TAG-GPSUHC”).
The renewed TAG-GPSUHC was convened in Tunisia for a two-day hybrid meeting with the objectives of familiarizing the group with WHO’s programme of work, seeking feedback on ongoing initiatives, providing advice to WHO to help shape the future agenda, and building relationships among new and returning TAG-GPSUHC members.
