WHO technical consultation on evidence-informed decision-making for prevention of and response to sexual misconduct: meeting report

Geneva, Switzerland, 18–19 April 2024

Overview

On 18–19 April 2024, WHO convened a two-day, multistakeholder technical consultation to intensify efforts to establish the evidence needed to inform effective strategies, policies and practices for the prevention of and response to sexual misconduct.

This consultation was built on WHO’s mandate and its expertise in developing evidence-informed guidance. More concretely, it was planned as a follow up on a recommendation made at the WHO PRS Stakeholder Review Conference in November 2023, to develop a stronger evidence-based approach to prevention and response to sexual misconduct. The consultation was held in Geneva, with some speakers and participants taking part online.

This report summarizes the presentations that were made, and key issues that were discussed at the technical consultation, and a synthesis of the evidence and research recommendations made in each session.
