Overview
The report on the interim Medical Countermeasures Network (i-MCM-Net) presents an overview of the network’s second annual Partners Meeting, held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 17 to 19 September 2024. The event convened 100 participants from 30 organizations to enhance global collaboration and timely, equitable access to medical countermeasures (MCMs) in response to public health emergencies. The report highlights key discussions aimed at advancing these goals. The i-MCM-Net’s strategic framework, theory of change, and logic model were introduced to support the alignment of partner activities, leverage collective expertise, and enhance coordination of resources. Participants explored the MCM ecosystem through an end-to-end value chain lens, covering fast-tracked research and development, scalable manufacturing, integrated emergency supply chains, integrated delivery, and sustainable financing. Throughout the meeting, partners identified 32 topics of attention and related considerations across the MCM value chain. These are summarized through detailed accounts of roundtable and breakout sessions. Additionally, the meeting introduced initial approaches for developing the i-MCM-Net High-Level Implementation Plan, intended to guide operational workstreams, align objectives, and establish key milestones for implementation.
