Guide for establishing and maintaining knowledge networks

Overview

The purpose of this guide is to support public health practitioners and other relevant stakeholders in creating adaptable, effective, engaging and sustainable knowledge networks that promote peer learning and knowledge exchange. By combining theoretical frameworks with practical tools, good practices and concrete examples, this guide serves as a step-by-step resource for the establishment, launch and management of knowledge networks, ensuring continuous learning and collaboration throughout the life cycle of the network. This guide was developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with individuals and institutions from each region with solid experiences in peer-to-peer learning and knowledge management tools and strategies. This work is a contribution of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme to the professionalization of the emergency workforce worldwide, as knowledge networks provide important channels for collaboration and learning among geographically dispersed teams who wish to strengthen their response to public health threats and outbreaks.
