Report of the sixth, seventh and eighth meetings of the Technical Advisory Group on Malaria Elimination and Certification: 20 March, 9–10 September and 3–4 December 2024

Overview
The Technical Advisory Group on Malaria Elimination and Certification (TAG-MEC) was established to advise WHO on malaria-free certification, malaria elimination, and prevention of re-establishment. This report describes the proceedings and outcomes of three TAG-MEC meetings held in 2024, focusing in particular on: the malaria-free certification of Egypt and Georgia; progress towards certification of malaria elimination in Timor-Leste; plans for regional certification and updates to WHO guidance on malaria-free certification, including guidance related to zoonotic malaria; ongoing work to update the framework for malaria elimination; and the global malaria elimination situation.
The report is intended for national programme managers, those involved in the ongoing development of global guidance, and staff from ministries of health and other departments, as well as partners and donors.
