Assistive technology progress assessment questionnaire: tracking progress on access to assistive technology
Overview
In May 2018, the World Health Assembly (WHA) adopted resolution WHA71.8 on improving access to assistive technology. The resolution urges Member States to enhance access by addressing assistive technology policies and programmes, human resources, national priority lists of assistive products (where appropriate to the context), research, innovation, international and regional collaboration, data collection, and investment in inclusive barrier-free environments to ensure optimal use of assistive technology.
This publication presents a concise set of ten progress indicators designed to help governments, policymakers, and stakeholders assess advancements in these key areas. The indicators provide a standardized framework for tracking and reporting progress on national efforts to improve access to assistive technology, supporting evidence-based decision-making and fostering international collaboration. The aim is to guide countries in monitoring implementation, identifying gaps, and prioritizing actions to ensure equitable access for all who need assistive technology.
