Contingency fund for emergencies: 2025 annual report

Overview

The Contingency Fund for Emergencies (CFE) is WHO’s rapid financing mechanism that enables immediate, life-saving action in the first days of an emergency, before donor appeals are launched and traditional funding arrives.

In 2025, the CFE enabled WHO to release nearly US$ 30 million for 24 emergencies in 40 countries. In 2025, the CFE received US$ 10.6 million in contributions from 11 Member States and the WHO Foundation.

The annual report provides an overview of the use and impact of the Fund over the previous year.
