Achieving quality universal health coverage through better water, sanitation and hygiene services in health care facilities: A focus on Ethiopia

Overview

This document provides a summary of national actions taken to advance WASH in health care facilities within the context of quality universal health coverage. Key successes and associated enabling factors, as well as factors which improve sustainability, are outlined. Challenges and bottlenecks are also described. Finally, a set of recommendations is provided for consideration by the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, WHO Ethiopia and WHO headquarters.
