Regional action framework on improving hospital planning and management in the Western Pacific

Overview
Hospitals are essential part of service delivery and core to advancing universal health coverage and achieving the health targets in the sustainable development goals. It is often the first point-of-care contact and shape public perception of the performance of the country's health system. In the efforts to improve hospital performance, countries often face some challenges. The WHO Regional Committee for the Western Pacific, in its 69th session in October 2018, endorsed the Regional Action Framework on Improving Hospital Planning and Management in the Western Pacific. This document aims to assist Member States by providing a menu of actions that Member States can adopt, depending on their specific contexts, to ensure that hospitals contribute to advancing universal health coverage.
