Research tools: Viewing Panel Sessions
Overview
Viewing panel sessions is part of a series of research tools to support the C4H application. The series aims to equip communications professionals with the foundational knowledge and skills to better inform, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based, impact-driven and targeted C4H interventions.
What are viewing panels?
A viewing panel is a qualitative approach similar to focus group discussions (FGDs) in that a group of people who are representative of the target audience are brought together to view and provide their feedback on video content. Most often, viewing panel sessions include an analysis of participants’ knowledge, attitudes and behaviours (KABs) before and after viewing video content in order to identify any shifts in KABs resulting from being exposed to the video content.
