| Meeting report

Overview
The objectives of the workshop were to share the latest evidence on climate change and health, to define the key elements of a strategy for health protection from climate change and to develop a regional framework for action. Participants were briefed on the latest evidence on climate change and health by international experts. A framework for action to protect human health from the effects of climate change in the Asia-Pacific region was developed. This framework provided a series of recommendations for governments as well as WHO pertaining to awareness creation and strengthening the health system capacity to reduce the impact of climate change.
