Key highlights – Q3 2021 (Jul-Sept 2021)

  • The Region has adopted the goal of “measles and rubella elimination by 2023” (SEA/RC73/R3).
  • A strategic plan for measles and rubella elimination in WHO South-East Asia Region for the period 2020-2024 has been endorsed by Member States.(link)
  • Significant impact of COVID-19 on measles and rubella activities in the Region.
  • Meeting of the WHO South-East Asia Regional Verification Committee conducted between 27-29 September
  • A virtual review of the measles and rubella elimination activities in he Region commission through independent expert between 1 October to 30 November and is ongoing.
