Overview
This year is a key milestone: the target date for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the year to set the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The UN-Water GLAAS Special Report for Africa, the development of which was led by WHO in close collaboration with the African Ministers’ Council on Water and the African Development Bank, provides data from 39 African countries and 23 external support agencies to take stock on progress made during the MDG period and to set the scene for the upcoming SDGs. This report is intended to serve as a resource for leaders and policy-makers in Africa as they define priorities in WASH for the next decade and beyond.
