Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)

Overview

On 5 July 2003, WHO announced that the last known chain of human-to-human transmission of the SARS coronavirus had been broken, bringing to an end the initial outbreak of a severe new respiratory disease that began in mid-November 2002 in southern China and spread internationally in late February 2003.
