Overview

In 2019, Working for Health supported four countries on initiating and implementing health workforce strategies and investment plans to achieve universal health coverage. It enabled two regional economic communities (Southern African Development Community and West African Economic and Monetary Union to develop and implement harmonised health workforce strategies to expand education, skills and jobs; and it developed and established the Interagency Data Exchange platform and the International Platform on Health Worker Mobility as major global initiatives for driving evidence-based health workforce policy, reform and investments.
