Report of the 20th meeting of the WHO alliance for the global elimination of trachoma by 2020

Overview

The purpose of the annual meeting of the WHO Alliance for the Global Elimination of Trachoma by 2020 (GET2020) is to assess progress towards the elimination of trachoma, exchange information and experiences, distil learning, explore partnership opportunities and establish priority actions in order for all countries to meet the 2020 target.

While recognizing increased surgical coverage for affected populations, progress made in mapping and new and renewed commitments from the private sector, bilateral agencies and other donors, the Alliance urges endemic countries to support a coordinated multi-sectoral approach for wider access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene if 2020 elimination goal is to be achieved.
