Overview

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030’s target for universal access to clean cooking and the overarching ambition for achieving net-zero by 2050 will be missed unless a significant expansion of current efforts to increase energy access is in place. Transitioning the cooking sector to net-zero emissions emerges as a pivotal and economically viable strategy for attaining the global energy sector’s 2050 net-zero emission target and for limiting the global temperature rise to within 1.5 degrees Celsius.
