Contingency Fund for Emergencies – First and second quarterly update 2025

Overview
In the first and second quarters of 2025, WHO released nearly US$ 19 million from the Contingency Fund for Emergencies (CFE) to provide life-saving aid to victims of Cyclone Chito in Mayotte and the earthquake in Myanmar; to support government-led responses to outbreaks of Marburg in Tanzania and Sudan virus disease in Uganda; to provide emergency health services in response to the complex emergencies in Yemen, Sudan and Myanmar; for the measles outbreak in Morocco; and for the response to mpox in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Nine Member States and the WHO Foundation have pledged or contributed more than US$ 10 million to the CFE so far this year.
