EPI-WIN digest 52 - The utility of pathogen genomics: spotlight TB

Overview

The International Pathogen Surveillance Network (IPSN) is a global network of pathogen genomic actors, brought together by the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence, part of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme (WHE), to accelerate progress in pathogen genomics, and improve public health decision-making.

This digest provides information on the role of genomics with a focus on providing high level context to countries and funders about its utility in various settings. It provides current and future perspectives on the applicability of genomics to drug-resistant TB sequencing across a range of settings for emerging and circulating pathogen surveillance and clinical case management, exploring important topics that include recent innovations in sequencing approaches, implementation models, and intelligence sharing.
