Multi-country outbreak of cholera, external situation report #32 -26 November 2025

From 1 January to 26 October 2025, a cumulative total of 565 404 cholera cases and 7074 deaths were reported from 32 countries across five WHO regions, with the Eastern Mediterranean Region recording the highest numbers, followed by the African Region, the South-East Asia Region, the Region of the Americas, and the Western Pacific Region. No cases were reported from the European Region during this period.

In October 2025 a total of 35 026 new cholera and acute watery diarrhoea (AWD) cases were reported from 20 countries across four WHO regions, showing a 34% decrease from September. In this period, 335 cholera-related deaths were reported globally, a 55% decrease from the previous month.

In October 2025, the average stockpile of Oral Cholera Vaccine (OCV) was 7.9 million doses, exceeding the emergency threshold of 5 million doses throughout the reporting period.
