Rabies Vaccine Readiness Assessment Tool

Overview

"The Rabies Vaccine Readiness Assessment Tool was developed to support countries in evaluating their preparedness for the introduction and rollout of human rabies vaccines.

Designed to be used alongside the WHO Guide to Introducing Human Rabies Vaccine into National Immunization Programmes, the tool provides a structured and standardized approach to assess national and subnational readiness across seven key domains: planning and coordination, funding, training, integration, monitoring and supervision, vaccine cold chain and logistics, and advocacy, community engagement, and social mobilization.

The tool includes components to guide a comprehensive situation analysis, the development of a national readiness macroplan, the preparation of subnational readiness microplans, and access to a dedicated resource page to support implementation.

This readiness tool is intended to facilitate the identification of strengths and gaps, prioritize actions, and inform planning to ensure timely and effective human rabies vaccine introduction. Countries are encouraged to adapt and use the tool according to their specific contexts and needs."
