Report of the first meeting of the WHO Technical Advisory Group on Health, Migration and Displacement

Overview

The World Health Organization convened the newly established Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on Health, Migration, and Displacement, bringing together 16 experts from across all WHO regions to support WHO's Special Initiative on Health and Migration. Following its public hybrid launch on 25 November 2025, the TAG held two technical sessions to begin shaping its work. Discussions focused on defining TAG functions, setting priorities for the next biennium, contributing to the second WHO World Report on promoting the health of refugees and migrants, identifying topics for the 2026 Global Evidence Review on Health and Migration (GEHM) series, and strengthening capacity‑building efforts. This report presents the key takeaways from the first TAG meeting.
