Serological detection of avian influenza A(H7N9) virus infections by modified horse red blood cells haemagglutination-inhibition assay

Overview

The WHO Collaborating Center for Reference and Research on Influenza at the Chinese National Influenza Center,  Beijing, China, has made available attached laboratory procedures for serological detection of avian influenza A(H7N9) virus infections by modified horse red blood cells haemagglutination-inhibition assay. This assay supersedes the assay using turkey red blood cells posted on 23 May 2013. The modified assay has been shown to be more sensitive.
