Somalia: WHO Health Emergency Appeal 2026
29 January 2025
| Donor alert
Overview
Conflict, climate shocks, displacement and disease outbreaks continue to drive a protracted Grade-3 emergency in Somalia. In 2026, 5 million people are expected to need health assistance as funding cuts threaten the closure of hundreds of health facilities. Recurrent cholera, measles and diphtheria outbreaks, alongside malnutrition, place children and women at highest risk. WHO is sustaining life-saving health services, strengthening outbreak detection and leading health coordination to prevent avoidable deaths.
