South Sudan: WHO Health Emergency Appeal 2026

Overview

South Sudan faces overlapping emergencies driven by conflict, climate shocks, displacement and large-scale disease outbreaks. In 2026, 6.3 million people will require health assistance as flooding, food insecurity and recurrent cholera, measles and mpox continue to strain a fragile health system. Attacks on health facilities, staff shortages and disrupted supply chains are limiting access to care. WHO is delivering life-saving health services, strengthening outbreak detection and sustaining essential care in high-risk areas.
