The Department of Delivery for Impact (DFI) is the cornerstone of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) transformation agenda, set up in 2020 to accelerate measurable progress towards better health outcomes at the country level.

As a subdivision of the Department of Data and Analytics, the DFI supports all three levels of the organization in facilitating measurable impact towards the Triple Billion (3BN) targets and the health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The department also assists member states in strengthening their capability to better deliver on these targets and improve health outcomes at country level, helping to translate the WHO’s purpose and policies into tangible outcomes on the ground.

The DFI team provides a delivery framework and set of tools to reinforce data-driven decisions, evidence-based actions, and effective routines to keep a sustained focus on measurable progress throughout the Organization.

Through an integrated approach that brings together technical and delivery expertise, the work of the DFI focuses on (1) enhancing accountability for the 3BN targets and health-related SDGs, (2) supporting effective implementation at country level, and (3) integrating a unified, delivery-oriented mindset within the WHO.
