Global Malaria Programme
The WHO Global Malaria Programme (GMP) is responsible for coordinating WHO's global efforts to control and eliminate malaria. Its work is guided by the "Global technical strategy for malaria 2016–2030" adopted by the World Health Assembly in May 2015 and updated in 2021.
How to do a RDT for P. falciparum malaria
This series of short videos demonstrate the correct performance and interpretation of rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) for the detection of P. falciparum malaria. They are divided in 4 main sections – introduction, preparation, performing and reading – and to test knowledge, 3 series of exercises on RDT results are also included. This video series should be used a complementary instructional tool for training curriculums on use of malaria RDTs in fever case management.
The training is also available on DVD. To obtain a copy, please contact: malaria_rdt@who.int.
