MI4A Vaccine purchase data

MI4A Vaccine Purchase Database

The Market Information for Access (MI4A) vaccine purchase database is the output of a peer platform leveraging data collected from countries worldwide. Since 2017, this comprehensive country-based dataset has gathered information on global vaccine markets , with more than 190 Member States reporting on over 800 unique products across 100 vaccine types. Countries report through the WHO/UNICEF Joint Reporting Form annually, hence the dataset is updated every year and includes historic data.  Through the MI4A Initiative the WHO Global Access team makes this dataset publicly available to equip countries and vaccine market actors with market intelligence that can inform product choice, support financial planning, help optimize budgets, enhance procurement and strengthen national, regional and global decision-making for improved access to vaccines.

Information available through the dataset includes information on every vaccine that each country has purchased, including:

  • Country income group and region (NB: country names are anonymized due to confidentiality);
  • Vaccine product, presentation, price, volume, procurement channel, contract details.
