Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and Ageing
We lead WHO’s work on the life course so that every pregnant woman, mother, newborn, child, adolescent, and older person will survive, thrive and enjoy health and well-being.

Respectful care

WHO’s quality of care framework encompasses both the provision and the experience of care, and is supported by standards that call for respectful care along the life course: care that is organized and provided in a manner that maintains the patient’s dignity, privacy and confidentiality, respects their rights, ensures freedom from harm and mistreatment, and enables informed choice and continuous support.
