Antiseizure medicines for drug resistant tonic clonic epilepsy

Recommendation(s)
Certain newer antiseizure medicines (lamotrigine, levetiracetam and topiramate) should be offered as add-on therapy in people with drug resistant epilepsy.
The essential antiseizure medicines (carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin, and valproic acid) may be of benefit as add-on therapy in people with drug resistant epilepsy.
