Description of the website

The website of PEI is a member of the WHO-led project Vaccine Safety Net (VSN).

The PEI web site on vaccines and vaccine safety includes articles on the website, scientific articles, Dear Healthcare Professional Letters, Links and the Bulletin on Pharmacovigilance. A Serious Adverse Events database provides access to information on suspected cases of adverse events following immunisation (AEFI) and serious adverse events following administration of sera (SAE) reported to the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut.

Information is given on all vaccines with a valid marketing authorization in Germany classified by diseases. Information like SPCs, package leaflets or public assessment reports are available via Links to databases as PharmNet.Bund, the gateway for information on medicinal products of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Länder (German Federal states) and the EMA (European Medicines Agency). Helpful links are given to further information on vaccination and vaccine preventable diseases.
