The objectives of the Editorial Board are to:

1. Provide scientific oversight for the development of the Global Report

2. Provide evidence and advice on key themes and topics on commercial determinants of health to be included in the World Report.

3. Provide technical input into specific sections of the World Report, based on your technical expertise.

4. Undertake technical review of drafts of the report and provide recommendations for their improvement.

5. Act as champions for the report and the topic of social determinants of health during the report development, and upon its release, including supporting dissemination of the report’s key messages.

 

The Editorial Board comprises the following people:

Professor Marco Akerman (Professor, School of Public Health at the University of São Paulo).

Professor Sharon Friel (Professor of Health Equity, Director, Menzies Centre for Health Governance, Australian National University).

Professor Nicholas Freudenberg (Distinguished Professor of Public Health at City University of New York School of Public Health).

Professor Sandro Galea (Dean and Robert A. Knox Professor at Boston University School of Public Health).

Dr Mihaly Kokeny (Senior Advisor to WHO; Former Minister of Health Hungary; former Chair of the WHO Executive Board).

Professor Kelley Lee (Professor of Public Health at Simon Fraser University, Canada).

Dr Rene Loewenson (Director, Training and Research Support Centre, Zimbabwe).

Professor Jamilah Mahmood (Executive Director, Sunway Centre for Planetary Health, Sunway University Malaysia).

Professor T. Alafia Samuel (Honorary Professor, Carribiean Institute for Health Research, University of West Indies, Barbados).

Professor Gita Sen (Professor Emeritus, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India).

Professor Attiya Waris (UN Independent Expert on foreign debt, other international financial obligations and human rights; Professor of Fiscal Law and Policy in Eastern and Central Africa, University of Nairobi).
