WHO AWaRe system for antimicrobial stewardship

AWaRe logo

The WHO AWaRe system is a suite of normative guidance, technical documents and tools to support Member States in the implementation of antimicrobial stewardship policies and interventions, including planning, informing, monitoring and evaluating impact. It includes the AWaRe classification, AWaRe antibiotic book, AWaRe based indicators and targets to monitor and benchmark antimicrobial use, as well as relevant implementation resources such as the antimicrobial stewardship practical toolkit.
