FluNet Summary
National Influenza Centres (NICs) and other national influenza laboratories from 131 countries, areas or territories reported data to FluNet for the time period from 13 May 2024 to 26 May 2024* (data as of 21/06/2024 01:13:51 PM UTC). The WHO GISRS laboratories tested more than 350429 specimens during that time period. 20741 were positive for influenza viruses, of which 17211 (82.98%) were typed as influenza A and 3530 (17.02%) as influenza B. Of the sub-typed influenza A viruses, 6275 (63.52%) were influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 and 3604 (36.48%) were influenza A(H3N2). Of the characterized B viruses, 0 (0.00%) belonged to the B-Yamagata lineage and 625 (100.00%) to the B-Victoria lineage.
