Process for becoming a Primary registry in the ICTRP Network

  1. Establish the national registry of clinical trials
  2. Establish national regulation or legislation for ethics review and a registration of clinical trials
  3. Submit a request to join ICTRP by email to ictrpinfo@who.int to initiate the process
  4. Fill and submit the required forms by email to the ICTRP Secretariat
    • The documents will be sent to the registry by email after having received the official request to join the ICTRP Network
  5. Get a letter of support from the Ministry of Health and send it to the ICTRP Secretariat
  6. Successfully transfer data to ICTRP
    • This step ensures the registry has a good IT infrastructure and their database matches the ICTRP standards
  7. Pass an on-site audit process
  8. Application reviewed by the ICTRP advisory panel
  9. Get final approval and letter of designation from the Chief Scientist of WHO
