Strengthening partnerships and city networks to address urban health

Over the last few decades, WHO has established partnerships and networks of cities to allow sharing of experiences in improving health and promoting well-being in urban areas. These partnerships with diverse stakeholders have strengthened coherent advocacy efforts towards urban health agendas at both global and local levels while facilitating collaborative activities to develop and deliver technical products on more specific themes related to urban health.

Addressing urban health topics, WHO operates and contributes to several multi-stakeholder networks globally and regionally, including:

WHO also continues to maintain and enhance its institutional partnership with prominent research centres, academia, civil society and other international organizations which lead and advance urban health agendas through various channels and mechanisms.
