WHO Cox’s Bazar: Rohingya emergency crisis - Situation Report: July 2025
Situation report

Overview
Coordination and Leadership
To strengthen collective action for disease prevention and response, the Health Sector, led by WHO in collaboration with UNHCR and partners, commemorated World Hepatitis Day on 28 July at GK Primary Health Centre in Camp 4 Extension, one of 12 Hepatitis C treatment sites. A community rally, technical sessions, and dialogue with community leaders reinforced key messages on prevention, stigma reduction, early diagnosis, and treatment adherence, aligning with the goal of Hepatitis C elimination by 2027.
Regular coordination remained central to the health response. In July, the Health Sector facilitated one district-level and 33 camp-level meetings, updating partners on the suspension of United States Government funding, Joint Response Plan (JRP) 2025, epidemiology and disease surveillance (including dengue and cholera), Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and vaccine-preventable disease surveillance, Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), community health, Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR), and mental health services.
Several Technical Working Group (TWG) meetings were also convened, including on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE), SRH, Epidemiology and Surveillance, and Community Health Workers (CHW). Through these meetings, WHO maintained its role as the leader of the Health Sector by actively coordinating the health response and joint strategic public health interventions for the Rohingya population in Cox’s Bazar camps.
WHO and the Health Sector Information Management Team updated all regular information management products for July 2025, including live interactive dashboards (4W, HeRAMS, training calendar, and more).
