Big achievement by Bangladesh Medical Students’ Society
As part of celebration for 75th anniversary of WHO, Bangladesh Medical Students' Society (BMSS) organized the mega event on "WHO Simulation 2023" on 28 and 29 April with support from the World Health Organization Bangladesh.
The Department of Public Health of Daffodil International University was the organizing partner of this conference. Furthermore, this entire awe-inspiring event was conducted through role play where Dr. MD. M Islam Bulbul, Program Manager, NNS at Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bangladesh played role of Director General of WHO for this simulation exercise.
At the beginning of the main session, Hon. WHO Representative to Bangladesh; Dr Bardan Jung Rana, extended his full support and sincere gratitude for organizing the event through a video message. At the event, Prof. Dr. ABM Alauddin Choudhary, Head of the Department of Public Health at Daffodil International University welcomed all the participants in Daffodil University.

Prof. Dr M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice-chancellor, of Daffodil International University, was Guest of Honor. Dr. Shamil Uddin Ahmed Shimul, Hon. Member of Parliament of Chapainawabganj-1 honored the event as Chief Guest. The guests collectively unveiled the WHO Simulation Magazine in the ceremony.
The opening plenary was led by plenary President Dr. M. Omar Khaium, Faculty of Allied Health Science (DIU), and plenary Vice President Nadia Nasreen Nadi, Vice President for External Affairs of Bangladesh Medical Students' Society (BMSS). The dais members of 5 specialized committees were called up on stage to discuss their respective agendas and expectations from delegates.
After starting the opening plenary, the day long effective committee sessions were held of specialized committees on Gender Equality, Maternal & Child Healthcare, Research & Innovation in Healthcare, Non-Communicable Diseases, Communicable Diseases, and Health Equity & Health Services.

On 29 April, the event started with final committee sessions where delegates prepared draft resolutions of their respective committees. later on, the closing plenary was conducted by the plenary president and vice president where the dais members of each committee presented the final resolution which was voted upon by delegates.

With the active participation of more than 450 medical students from 40 medical colleges across
Bangladesh and high-profile guests, this biggest event was held at Daffodil International University (DIU) at Birulia, Savar. There are several renowned corporates such as Square Group, United Hospital, Kazi & Kazi Tea, Fries & Co, ACME, NutriPlus, Asian TV, Nexus Television, Le Delicia, Well Food, Bellissimo, and SHOUT The Daily Star extended their hands to the BMSS to make this event happen.

Active participation in the specialized committee Session
The WHO Simulation 2023 was an opportunity for the medical students to come together and share their experiences and knowledge to better prepare for and respond to health emergencies. The insightful discussions and innovative solutions proposed during the simulation were a testament to the expertise and dedication of everyone at the event.
Mr. Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury, M.P, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh was the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony of WHO Simulation 2023. Honorable Minister inspires all the participants with his insightful speech, and he appreciated BMSS’s initiative to conduct this high-profile global event.
