Health Sector Cox's Bazar: Monthly Bulletin-April-2025

Overview

• In April 2025, 2 PHCs and 9 Health Posts (HPs) were newly affected due to the US Government funding suspension, while one of the HPs was closed, the others reduced health services. This makes the total number of impacted PHCs 7, while another 6 are at risk, and HPs 9.
• Varicella (chickenpox) cases declined ending the transmission season this month. In April 2025, 4,008 Varicella cases were reported which is almost 62% less than the last month (10,505 cases).
• The month of April 2025 was observed with low health services utilization numbers (OPD, IPD) compared to last few months which is mostly due to Ramadan and Eid Holidays following the trend observed in the previous years.
• Shortage of vaccines that was observed last month is resolved
