Together We Can Eliminate Cervical Cancer
Cervical cancer can be prevented and cured when detected early and treated promptly.
On 17 November, join a global movement raising awareness, celebrating progress and mobilizing action to protect girls through HPV vaccination, help more women get screened, and ensure those who need treatment and care can receive it.

Together toward 2030

Together We Can Eliminate Cervical Cancer.

From 2026 through 2030, this shared call will carry the global movement forward. It recognizes the progress already underway and the collective effort needed to ensure that progress reaches women and girls everywhere.

Achieving elimination will require political leadership and sustained investment, health workers equipped to deliver quality services, and services informed by the knowledge and experience of women and communities.

Through 2030, the campaign will make this work visible and maintain attention on the actions needed to reach the global targets.

The commitment behind the Day

World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day carries forward a historic global commitment.

On 17 November 2020, 194 countries adopted the WHO Global Strategy to accelerate the elimination of cervical cancer as a public health problem marking the first time the world had committed to eliminate a cancer.

In 2025, WHO Member States established 17 November as World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day, the first official world health day dedicated to eliminating a cancer.

Each year, the Day provides a shared platform to recognize progress, highlight the work of countries and communities, and build support for the action still needed to reach the global targets for 2030

What information helps women decide to get screened for cervical cancer and continue to treatment and care?

WHO and Healthcare Information For All are inviting people around the world to share how information, misinformation and perceptions influence these decisions. Insights will be brought together in a report and shared through a webinar in November.
